Lefkara Lace

The World Famous Lace

The lace making in Lefkara started around the 14th century. Legend has is that Leonardo Da Vinci was impressed with the lace making and ordered a tablecloth to take back home. The tablecloth that is displayed at the Cathedral church of Milan is said to be the one sent to Leonardo Da Vinci.

We are proud to carry the Legacy

We pride ourselves in employing over 30 Lace-makers with a joint experience of over 1500 years! Our oldest lace maker helped make the commemorative tablecloth for Queen Elizabeth II. If you are lucky, you might even get a chance to see the ladies making the lace and meet our master-lace maker Nina who made the altar cloth for Pope Benedict XVI.
